Privacy Policy
LazyNotch is operated by Sanjay Singh, an independent developer based in India. This policy explains how LazyNotch handles personal information when you use the macOS app, visit lazynotch.com, join the waitlist, or contact us.
- Routine conversation history is not stored in LazyNotch-controlled databases. Pending connected-app actions may be held encrypted until reviewed or cleared.
- Your content is not used by LazyNotch to train models.
- Your information is never sold, rented, or shared for advertising.
- Anything you explicitly ask LazyNotch to remember is stored locally on your Mac.
1. Information we handle
Account information
To operate accounts, plans, billing, and usage limits, LazyNotch may store:
- Your email address, name, optional profile image, and Google sign-in identifier
- Account status, plan, subscription and billing metadata
- Usage counters and operational records, such as request type, token use, latency, and error category
- Your phone number if you choose to provide it
Our authentication provider may separately process limited technical information such as your IP address, device information, user agent, and security events to authenticate you and prevent abuse.
Waitlist and communication information
When you join the waitlist, subscribe to updates, become a customer, or contact us, we may collect:
- Your email address
- Your communication preferences
- Messages you send to our support or privacy address
Waitlist and customer email addresses are stored in our mailing-list or communication service.
Feature content
Depending on the feature you use, LazyNotch may temporarily process:
- Voice recordings and dictation
- Transcribed speech, questions, and instructions
- Selected text, screen content, or screenshots
- Files and file excerpts
- Information returned by connected applications
- Generated responses, drafts, and tool results
This content is processed to complete your request. LazyNotch does not retain ordinary conversation history or feature content in analytics systems. A proposed connected-app action may be stored encrypted while waiting for your review; its content is cleared when the action is executed, cancelled, or checked after expiry. Raw voice recordings and dictation transcripts are not retained by LazyNotch after processing.
Information you ask LazyNotch to remember
LazyNotch stores information only when you explicitly ask it to remember something. Memories are stored locally on your Mac, not on LazyNotch servers. You can review or delete them through the application or by removing the associated local data. Local information may be included in device backups controlled by you or your operating-system provider.
Connected applications
Connecting an application is optional and separate from signing in. LazyNotch uses a managed connection provider, Composio, to open the provider's authorisation flow and carry out permitted actions. The connected provider and Composio process information under their respective policies. LazyNotch stores connection IDs, connection status, and operation metadata so it can route the account and confirm requested actions. Pending action details are encrypted while awaiting your approval. Content retrieved for an answer or draft may pass through LazyNotch's authenticated backend and model providers. Actions such as sending an email or creating a document, task, event, or message may cause that information to remain in the connected service.
LazyNotch does not access a connected application until you authorise its connection. You can disconnect it in LazyNotch Settings and revoke access from the connected provider's account settings. A suggested reply remains a draft until you choose to send it.
Optional app analytics
App analytics is enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings. When enabled, LazyNotch sends limited product-use events to Mixpanel in its EU region. These can include an installation identifier, account identifier after sign-in, app launches and opens, activity heartbeats, feature use, and performance or error categories. Analytics does not include your conversation text, email bodies, document contents, screenshots, or raw voice. You can turn app analytics off in Settings; LazyNotch then stops sending these optional events.
Website and security information
LazyNotch does not use advertising trackers or sell browsing information. Website and infrastructure providers may temporarily process information such as IP addresses, browser type, device information, request timestamps, and security events to deliver the website, prevent fraud, and protect the service.
Website analytics, if enabled, are separate from the macOS app's optional product analytics. We will update this policy and request consent where required before adding non-essential website tracking.
2. How information is used
We process information to:
- Create, authenticate, secure, and manage your account
- Provide the features and connected-app actions you request
- Process dictation, screen context, and files
- Maintain local memories you explicitly request
- Respond to support and privacy requests
- Send product updates and promotional messages when permitted
- Diagnose failures without storing the content of your conversations
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Meet legal obligations
Where applicable, we rely on performance of our agreement with you, your consent, legitimate interests in operating and securing LazyNotch, and compliance with legal obligations.
3. Model training
LazyNotch does not use your conversations, dictation, files, screen content, account information, or other personal information to train models.
Third-party model providers process submitted content under their applicable service terms and privacy settings. Some providers may retain limited information temporarily for security, fraud prevention, or abuse monitoring. We configure available privacy and retention controls to minimise this processing.
4. Marketing communications
If you join the waitlist or separately agree to receive updates, we may send product announcements, launch information, feature updates, offers, promotional communications, and research or feedback requests.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in each marketing email or by contacting privacy@lazynotch.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent essential account, security, purchase, or service communications.
We may keep a minimal suppression record after you unsubscribe so that we do not accidentally contact you again for marketing.
5. When information is shared
We may share limited information with:
- Cloud hosting, authentication, model-processing, email, and payment providers
- Composio for connections you authorise and Mixpanel when app analytics is enabled
- Apple platform services
- Applications you choose to connect
- Security, infrastructure, and customer-support providers
- Authorities when disclosure is legally required
- A successor operator if LazyNotch is reorganised, acquired, or transferred
Providers receive only the information reasonably necessary to perform their function.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share personal information for behavioural advertising, targeted advertising, or data-broker activity.
6. International processing
LazyNotch is operated from India and is intended to be available in the United States, United Kingdom, and supported countries across Asia.
Service providers may process information in India, the United States, the United Kingdom, or other locations where they operate. Where required, we use contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers.
7. Retention and deletion
- Routine conversation history and completed feature content are not retained in LazyNotch-controlled server databases. Encrypted pending connected-app actions are kept until reviewed or cleared after expiry.
- Explicit memories remain locally on your Mac until you delete them.
- Account, plan, billing, usage, and connection metadata remain as needed while your account is active or to meet legal obligations.
- After account deletion, account information is removed from LazyNotch's active systems within 30 days.
- Authentication-provider backups may retain deleted information for up to 180 days.
- Waitlist and marketing information remains until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Support correspondence may be retained when necessary to resolve a request or meet legal obligations.
- Short-lived security logs follow the provider's security and deletion schedule and do not contain stored conversation content.
We may retain limited information for longer when required by law, necessary to investigate fraud or security incidents, or required to establish or defend legal claims.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information associated with you
- Withdraw consent or object to marketing
- Restrict certain processing
- Receive a portable copy of eligible information
- Complain to a data-protection authority
- Appeal certain decisions about a privacy request
Submit a request to privacy@lazynotch.com. We may ask for reasonable verification before fulfilling it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
United Kingdom users may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Users elsewhere may contact the data-protection authority responsible for their location.
9. Age requirement
LazyNotch is intended only for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we discover that an individual under 18 has provided personal information, we will delete it. Parents or guardians may contact privacy@lazynotch.com.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. These may include encryption in transit, restricted administrative access, secure authentication, local Keychain storage, and provider access controls.
No system can guarantee complete security. Contact us immediately if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
11. Automated processing
LazyNotch may generate text, summaries, recommendations, interface elements, or suggested actions. These features do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about you. External actions remain subject to application permissions, user controls, and any confirmation provided by the product.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when LazyNotch's features, providers, or legal obligations change. Material changes will be communicated through the website, application, or account contact information. The date at the top identifies the latest version.
